George Washington McElroy

Served during the entire Civil War in the Union Army. Was a well known Attorney at the Lancaster Co. Bar before the war and was District Attorney & Mayor of York, PA, where he lived from the close of the war till his death.

Letter states Sebastian Allgaier was a Private in Gen. (George) Washington's Army, and not a Colonel as Clayton McE believed.
