Mary Linthicum

Reference: FindAGrave.com

Mary Linthicum was the daughter of Thomas Linthicum and his wife Jane (Spurlock?) She married Richard Snowden (c.1666-c.1720) c. 1685. He was a son of Robert Snowden (c.1640-1711) and his wife Elizabeth Grosse.

Mary and Richard lived at Birmingham Manor plantation. I believe they had at least two sons, Thomas Snowden (c.1686-1704) and Richard Snowden (1688-1763).

I assume Mary and her husband are buried here, at the family cemetery at Birmingham Manor, said by some to be the oldest family cemetery in Maryland.

Thomas Terrel Linthicum , Sr.

Thomas Linthicum was born around 1640, either in Wales or England. He was transported to America by Captain Edward Selby prior to 23 July 1658. He settled on South River in Maryland.

Thomas was a member of the West River Friends Meeting (Quaker), but after getting "censured" by the Quakers, he and his family became Anglican and a part of All Hallows Parish Church. He was buried on 12 Nov. 1701. His will was made on 17 May 1699 and probated 30 Jan. 1701 (Old Style, actually 1702). By will at his death, he disposed of over 1200 acres of land. Per various family trees on line, he married Jane Spurlock on 9 June 1667, All Hallows Parish.

Thomas and Jane had four children:

1. Hezekiah Linthicum (c. 1668-c.1722, Find A Grave # 147501578) m. Milcah Francis (d. 1721) on 5 Oct. 1697.

2. Mary Linthicum (c. 1670-1717, Find A Grave # 149944339) m. Richard Snowden (c.1666-1720) in circa 1686. Lived at Birmingham Manor.

3. Jane Linthicum (c. 1672) m. Thomas Rutland on 13 Jan. 1695.

4. Thomas Linthicum, Jr. (1674-1741, Find A Grave # 127278023) m. Deborah Wayman (1680-1732) on 22 June 1698.

Hezekiah Linthicum

Reference: FindAGrave.com

Hezekiah Linthicum was a son of Thomas Linthicum (c. 1640-1701) and his wife Jane Spurlock. He was born sometime around 1668/70, and died around 1722. Hezekiah married Milcah Francis (d. 1721), a daughter of Thomas Francis & his wife Ruth Toulson, on 5 October 1697.

Hezekiah and Milcah had six children: Mary (1700-?, m. Edmond Wayman), an infant (d. Jan. 1704), Francis Linthicum (1709-1765, m. Eleanor Williams), Thomas Francis Linthicum (1716-1807, m. Elizabeth Williams, sister to Francis' wife), Hezekiah Linthicum (m. Elisabeth Welch) and Milcah Linthicum (born & died 1721, I think.)

Hezekiah's will was admitted to probate on 14 June 1722. I don't seem to have the date the will was written in my notes, but I assume it was after the death of his wife in Dec. 1721, so he likely died in the first part of the year 1722.
