Lived in Davidson, NC in 1850
In the 1860 census he is living in Davidson, NC with John Miller and family working as a carpenter
Enlisted in the Confederacy on 6-4-1861; 4th Regiment, NC Infantry, Company GReference: Clayton McE "Records" Book, dated 1896
Went south before the war and resided there for some years. Was suppsed to have been in the Confederate Army and was Killed during the war

Chloe was the second wife of Thomas Oakes. They had 9 children.
JAN 2021 - With details from Carol (Schanbacher) Adkins we learned that her father's Aunt was Emma (Schanbacher) Schoening (Find-a-Grave ID#: 133735788) ~ Found her buried at Masonic Care Community Cemetery in Utica, NY
